Back then, America was reeling from the one-two punch of warmonger fraud (Iraq War) and bankster fraud (the financial crisis) unleashed upon the country during the George W. Bush Administration. In many ways, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts is a product of its times that could not be written today. Its proposed social reforms (e.g., decriminalizing drug use, giving the drug-addicted homeless free range in our cities, etc.) have been conclusively refuted by the open-air fentanyl markets and homeless camps in America’s urban blue zones. Those portions of the book stand today as stark warnings against trusting naively in the counsel of overconfident “experts,” placing too great a weight on feminine virtues like “empathy,” and tolerating intolerable behaviors in public spaces.

But although the book’s social prescriptions are anachronisms of those quaint “before times” — i.e., before the cancer of gay race communism consumed America’s big cities and captured nearly every branch of the federal government during the Obama years — the author’s more personal anecdotes and observations are still very relevant and include some valuable insights about the way harmful addictions develop and why they are so difficult to break. This is especially true when the addictions in question involve compulsive behaviors rather than drug use, because even though the dynamic is nearly identical, it is more subtle and easy to rationalize away, making such addictions all the more hazardous.

In the aftermath of the scamdemic, I have noticed many more beggars than ever before, begging in places where you never used to see them. Another difference is, most of these new beggars are white, and this demographic shift has brought about some interesting changes that provide further evidence of very real and meaningful group differences. The other day, I went to a funeral for a good guy who died too young. His was another of those “deaths of despair,” a phenomenon that has become so common in America that it now has its own Wikipedia page. He had a big smile, a hearty laugh, and a gregarious personality. But he also had what one eulogist politely described as “mental health issues.” He had kept his problems to himself, until he lost that ability. He self-medicated, and that worked, for a while. Like the old Guns ‘N Roses song says, he “used to do a little, but a little wouldn’t do it, so the little got more.” You know how that story goes. You’ve probably seen it play out a few times in your own corner of this crazy world. Fortunately for him, he was able to get clean and reorient himself spiritually in a positive direction, but not before doing fatal damage to his vital organs. I recently did my civic duty and reported for jury duty, where I got to see DIEversity in action1 and had an encounter with one of the regime’s “handicapper deputies” (a term I will explain in this post, along with the phrase “black noise”). Much of my first day was spent in a large waiting room with hundreds of other people. I didn’t mind the waiting — at first. I had a book, Laura Knight-Jadczyk’s The Secret History of the World, and I started reading. I felt like it was going to be a great morning, because for however long I had to wait for the next phase of jury duty to begin, I could spend the time reading a challenging and insightful book. Unfortunately, a handicapper deputy had a different agenda.

The waiting room was quiet — at first. Most of the people were reading things on their screens. A few were reading actual books (those ancient relics from our ancestral past). Some conversed quietly with the folks sitting next to them. Others typed away on their keyboards. The atmosphere was filled with a steady rhythm of muted background sounds — i.e., “white noise” — something that is actually conducive of sustained mental focus and even of entering hyper-productive “flow states,” or even, alternatively, of going to sleep. White noise is good. I was about to experience its opposite: “black noise.”

I had a really interesting experience recently as a juror in a civil trial. The case itself wasn’t all that noteworthy (just an insurance company disagreeing with an injured plaintiff about how much money they owed her), but seeing the judicial system in action was eye opening. I had previously served on a jury in the same court on a nearly identical case about twelve years ago. A lot has changed since then. The local judicial system has become considerably more “diverse,” despite the fact that it is now nearly monoracial, because as we all know, in practice, “diversity” simply means fewer white men. I know this will come as a shock, but contrary to the regime’s relentless sloganeering, this “diversity” has not made the judicial system stronger.

Now, I did not notice anything that made me question the intellectual competence of the judges or their staff. What I noticed instead were cultural changes that seem to coincide with the changes in demographics. Things were a little less formal than before, and much less punctual. Many differences were subtle, but their cumulative effects were palpable. Everything pointed to a decline in the professional culture of the courts. Of course, this is merely a microcosm of the declining culture of America and the West.

Ten days ago, America was pretty clearly a gerontocracy, with 81-year-old Joe Biden as the obvious avatar for our cultural senescence. And Trump, though fully in command of his faculties, is nevertheless 78. (RFK, Jr., the other candidate for President is a relatively spry 70.) But then came that image of Trump, rising to his feet moments after being struck by a would-be assassin’s bullet, and rousing the crowd with an inspiring chant of, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” In an instant, he beamed with the vim and vigor of a man in the prime of his life. And then, Biden dropped out of the race via a social media post, which is probably the most youthful thing he’s done since taking office, and he named Kamala Harris — whom the media is trying desperately to reinvent as a “yass kween” girlboss — as heir to his tattered crown.

With Biden gone and Trump’s campaign dramatically energized, America no longer seems quite as gerontocratic as it did just ten days ago. Nevertheless, the larger points I intended to make with this post still remain valid.

Also, rumor has it that 84-year-old Nancy “Grandma Vodka” Pelosi was the one who ordered the political hit on Biden, showing that the Ancient of Years still reign supreme in the D.C. swamp. Our Paradoxical Gerontocracy

If the USA was a person, she would be a childishly immature old hag, still believing herself to be young and attractive in spite of her wrinkled skin, hunched back, and gnarled hands. Someone who unironically calls herself “sexy at 60 70 80 …” and all that nonsense. How did we end up here?

Since at least the 1960s we’ve had a “Youth Culture” in America and the rest of the NATO-occupied West. Looking back, much of it seems to have been suspiciously astroturfed (like everything else about our culture’s inorganic evolution). For example, there was the infamous “rural purge,” when television executives (more or less, simultaneously) decided to cancel still-popular programs that featured sympathetic depictions of heritage Americans living traditional lives. These shows were replaced with programs that portrayed heritage Americans as clowns and their cultural norms as backwards and bigoted.

Hmmmm … there’s something apt about that word used as a synonym for television shows: programs. When television networks make changes to the content they broadcast, they are said to have changed their programming. Like the television (or any such device with a screen) is a technology used to program a population with desirable behavioral traits, especially the young and impressionable. (And today we wonder why we have so many NPCs.) Anyway, I’m sure there are no conspiracies of Kalergi-planning elites who, after observing what promised to be a favorable trend, decided to give it their imprimatur and bless the trendsetters with lots and lots of money.

So we’ve had a youth-driven culture for at least the past 60 years. Meanwhile, we’ve also developed a late-stage-Soviet-Union style gerontocracy. Seems like a paradox, but it points to some important truths about America and the postmodern West.

Chesterton remarked, “How beautiful it would be for someone who could not read.”1 If you didn’t know what all the brightly lit signs actually said, then you might have guessed that some urgent and glorious news was being announced, when in reality it was just a lot of silly slogans advertising products like toothpaste and razors.

Another activist set himself on fire this past week. Maxwell Azzarello wanted to spread the word that we have a criminal government running massive Ponzi schemes and ultimately aiming to create a worldwide fascist dictatorship, so he incinerated himself in front of the court where Trump is on trial. According to the latest “conspiracy theory” forecasts, we could see plenty of “high strangeness” throughout North America during the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th (this Monday!). Some of these theories may seem a little out there, but so did a lot of other things that subsequently turned out to be completely true.

Ours is a zero-trust society, and crazy-sounding conspiracy theorists are usually far more trustworthy than government officials, mainstream journalists, academic researchers, etc. As we have seen, the credentialed “experts” who brandish the regime’s imprimatur have been consistently and catastrophically wrong about everything that matters.

A growing number of people, possibly even a majority, now accept that this is so, even if most of them are reluctant to acknowledge it publicly. People are sick of being conned and gaslit by the powers-that-be.

High Strangeness Incoming …

Something seems odd about the upcoming solar eclipse. From Texas to Canada, state and local governments are preemptively declaring states of emergency.1 Oklahoma will deploy its National Guard.2 Texas will restrict commercial trucking that day.3 NASA will fire three rockets into the moon’s shadow at precisely 3:33pm (for reasons that I’m sure have absolutely nothing to do with occult numerology).4 These rockets have been named after Apep, an ancient Egyptian serpent deity who tried to murder Ra, the Sun god, and who was also a harbinger of violent cataclysm and death (how very heartwarming!).5 Meanwhile, over in Europe, CERN will be firing up their large hadron collider during the eclipse to smash protons together in an effort to find “dark matter”6 (Wow! Sounds like a Stranger Things episode!).

But don’t worry! Your friendly neighborhood not-for-profit (who funds them?) and totally trustworthy (they’ve certainly never gotten anything wrong before!) professional fact checkers have checked everything out and certified that everything’s fine, there’s no cause for concern, and those crazy conspiracy theorists are just being paranoid.7

Now, I scanned through the announcements from various state and local governments about their rationale for making emergency declarations in advance of the eclipse, and admittedly, much of it makes sense. A million or so extra people showing up simultaneously in a rural county could easily overwhelm local infrastructure and emergency personnel. [Of course, the biggest reason for declaring a state of emergency is the one nobody articulated: by declaring one, you get access to the federal teat, so why not? We’re only $34 trillion in the hole! Might as well get an extra few million for your local government while the gravy train is still flowing!]

But despite how plausible these explanations sound, the whole thing still feels off. Maybe it’s me being paranoid. Maybe it’s the strange times in which we live. Maybe it’s the after-effects of all the COVID hysteria and color-revolution shenanigans of 2020 and 2021. Maybe it’s the escalating geopolitical tensions: America (via her proxies) is currently at war with Russia over Ukraine and could soon also be at war with China over Taiwan; meanwhile, our greatest albatross, Israel, seems determined to draw America into yet another war in the Middle East, and our AIPAC-owned politicians are only too eager to oblige. Something is rotten in this world, and everyone with a nose can smell it.
