The idea of orthodoxy would have been something I would have baulked at in the past. I once thought of myself as "progressive" and modern. But now I see how the commonality of belief, purpose etc is a binding principle as opposed to just some stuffy outmoded way of thinking. My only concerns still rest with truth. Does one cling to orthodox ideas even when they are obviously not true? Religion for example. I was raised atheist, do not believe in any religion and find it all rather fantastical. And I KNOW many don't believe it to be true but go along for the benefits of commonality. I find these two things difficult to reconcile. Well read BTW. Very enjoyable.
