I was driving around the town I'm in in Texas today and noticed how many churches there are. A stupendous number of them. Many are bordering on megachurch. They are building a big new Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Jehovah's Witnesses headquarters in Brooklyn, NY always had a Jewish look to it, it seemed to me. Appropriate, I guess, given the name.
I've only seen four bars. They look very corporate, like if you asked the bartender if you can get some water for your dog, they'll say, let me get management for you. You won't have any memorable conversations there or strike up any conversations with any alcoholic poets, I'll put it that way.
As it is written in Deuteronomy Ch. 14: But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, and the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind, and every raven after his kind, and the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, and the little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, and the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat, and the possum pecker.
In 1993, Kevin Alfred Strom, a neo-Nazi, said: "To determine the true rulers of any society, all you must do is ask yourself this question: Who is it that I am not permitted to criticize?"
The true beauty of that quote is that it serves to illustrate that universal truths are not dependent upon who first uttered them.
Nothing to worry about, Texas is a Red State after all.
In April 2025, the San Marcos City Council considered a resolution expressing concern over U.S. military aid to Israel, highlighting that approximately $4.4 million of San Marcos residents' taxes contributed to this funding. The proposed resolution called for an immediate ceasefire in occupied Palestine, an arms embargo on Israel, recognition of Palestinian sovereignty, and the protection of constitutional rights for all people under national and international law. https://universitystar.com/31935/news/greg-abbott-threatens-state-funding-to-san-marcos-ahead-of-ceasefire-resolution/
Governor Greg Abbott condemned the resolution, labeling it "antisemitic" and warning that its adoption could lead to the termination of state grants to San Marcos. He emphasized that Texas law prohibits governmental entities from supporting boycotts of Israel and stated that his office was reviewing active grants for compliance . https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-condemns-city-of-san-marcos-antisemitic-resolution
I wonder if boycotting any other country is illegal too, or if it's just Israel. It's odd that someone could burn an American flag in America and be completely protected by the First Amendment, but you couldn't burn an Israeli flag in America and enjoy the same constitutional protections.
Great post, Daniel. Christian Zionism is a disease.
Amen! When they say “Praise the Lord,” they mean Lord Rothschild.

A psyop from the 19th century
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY makes Sheriff Buford T. Justice look like a possum's pecker.
That sounds vaguely antisemitic and therefore illegal under Texas law.

I think they can eat the foreskin of a baby possum pecker though. As long as they don't mix it with dairy.

Remember the USS Liberty!
L'chaim to Gov. Hotwheels!
This was especially fun, listening to it on the app, in a voice of an AWFL childrens writer often invited to read her work on NPR.
Hopefully someone will share it with her!

Abbott must be considering a run for president.
You can be thoroughly anti-American and still be President, but you can't be antisemitic.
“Run” - I get it
