Bonus points for the Police quote. A great song. And as for DJT - one day at a time. He's a buffoon, but not a fool. And I believe there are some skillful people helping him. Have to take out the trash first.

What's your view on the ideological clean up of the military and when we can know whether it's a real one or just for the sake of turning us all into happy war-ready neo-cons? When would we know whether its a safe consideration?

I feel the pull of the flag-waving patriotism on myself and it bothers me how much I like it: https://grainofwheat.substack.com/p/neo-con-by-any-other-name?r=1mcpmt

Good question. I guess we'll know for sure when Trump leaves office without having gotten us into another war in the Middle East on behalf of our greatest albatross.

The grand strategy of the other side has always been the Long March. Sharpen more wooden stakes.

It is amazing how patient communists can be, and how they can coordinate efforts across generations, sacrificing for a shared vision that in many cases doesn't even come to fruition in their own lifetimes. It really gives the lie to their professed materialism that their ideology acts more like a religion than anything else.

The individual participants are unaware of it, but it is a religion, just controlled from the *other side*

a.k.a. it's demons all the way down...

Re hersteria: hysteria already refers to female emotionalism. It comes from the same root as hysterectomy.

I should have paid attention in Latin (or maybe this is Greek?). Etymology really explains a lot.

Wow man. Great write up but thanks for reminding me what a bad ass song that is!

I don't follow the anti Israel crowd (probably not a monolith) closely so am interested in understanding your thoughts in more detail. What is good/bad about Israel, what ahould the US relationship look like and what end state would you expect or desire in Palestine/Judea?

I mostly track with your piece and appreciate your writing. Thx

Check out Tucker Carlson's interview with Thomas Massie. Pretty much all our elected officials have an "AIPAC guy" who tells them how to vote on certain issues. Add to that that they're the only foreign lobby that doesn't have to register as such. That explains a lot about the decades of foreign policy disasters that have undermined American interests but have magically coincided with Israeli interests. And there are no shortage of rabbit holes you can go down about dancing Israelis on 9/11 and the USS Liberty. I would rather *not* care about them, but they have refused to leave us alone.

Did you mean “industrial- military and parasite” cancer? 👍😂

I've seen the Massie interview and agree with his position regarding lobbyists. Jews are a disparate bunch like most groups with a significant portion hewing to the far left. That really doesn't address my question about the desired future of the State of Israel.

Why does the future of the State of Israel need to be my concern as an American? And why am I expected to have more concern for them than for literally any other nation on earth? That question needs to be answered first. Why is no one demanding Americans answer questions about the desired future of, say, the State of Belize? At least Beliz is on the same continent as us.

An excellent question, I think we should have more concern about the health of the Americas. Nations have traditionally maintained alliances with other nations for various reasons, not all prudent to be sure.

I see a lot of negative opinion regarding the US alliance with Israel but no analysis of what a future state might, or should, look like.

Israel can go their own way and do their own thing, without involving us.

That doesn't posit an end state, but, ok.
