Just what my wife and I have been talking about. And our family, like you, feels a weight has been lifted, while at the same time remembering it doesn't mean this war we are in is over. A major battle has been won, and it's one we really had to win for any chance of moving forward. Feels good. I am optimistic in ways I haven't been for some time.

If Trump delivers on any of the big things he's signaled that he intends to do, he could really get a virtuous cycle going of success and optimism begetting more success, spreading more optimism, fueling more success, etc. We've been in a doom loop of defeat and demoralization for so long, and people are so hungry for something to be optimistic about, that the best case scenario could realistically be a total transformation of the culture.

My son said to me about an hour ago, "Like a lot of people I've felt like something big was about to happen...but it didn't really occur to me, it might be something good."

Our Christmas this year will feel much different than it has the previous 4 or 5.
